Thalia Waste Management provides a complete waste management service for Cambridgeshire County Council. This includes recycling, composting and the treatment of ‘black bag’ waste, while delivering a range of waste services from our 400-acre Waste Management Park at Waterbeach – about three miles north of Cambridge.

At our 400-acre Cambridgeshire site – Waterbeach Waste Management Park – we process more than 300,000 tonnes of waste each year. We compost or recycle over half of this. We operate nine recycling centres across the county and two waste transfer stations. We also provide services for trade customers including schools, Health and social care providers and local businesses.

Our facilities include:

  • Mechanical Biological Treatment plant for ‘black bag’ waste
  • In-Vessel Composting facility. This turns biodegradable wastes into a high-quality soil improver
  • Materials Recycling site to process mixed recyclables collected from households and businesses in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ('Recap').

The Waste Management Park also acts as a transfer station for the collection and sorting of waste from local businesses and councils.

And our on-site teams offer a range of services to local residents and businesses, including skip and bin hire and waste collections.

If you would like to report an environmental issue relating to the Waterbeach Waste Management Park, you can contact us directly or contact the Environment Agency 03708 506 506
